HHS Gives Guam $1.1 Million for Community Health Centers

Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo has announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

 

has awarded the Government of Guam $1.1 million from the Health Resources and Administration (HRSA) division.  The discretionary funds received today will assist the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services in expanding its medical services at the Northern and Southern Region Community Health Centers.

“The $1.1 million in discretionary funds will greatly assist Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services in increasing medical capacity and expanding access to primary care,” Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo said today. “DPHSS plans to recruit more providers and continue educational outreach initiatives with this grant.  Our community will benefit from the increased access to health care at Community Health Centers in Dededo and Inarajan.  I commend Linda DeNorcey and her staff for their work in securing these competitive funds.”  

Mr. J. Peter Roberto, Director of the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services said, “The Department applauds the leadership of the Community Health Centers and the Board for their dedication toward improving primary care for the people of Guam.”
